64 year old male patient presented for repair of an abdominal aortic aneurysm.
Operation, Diagnostic, Or Treatment Procedure Rendered Causing The Injury
Insured performed a pre-anesthesia evaluation on the patient prior to his undergoing endovascular abdominal aortic aneurysm repair with graft.The EKG was interpreted as normal, sinus rhythm and a chest x-ray were normal.Lab values were all within normal limits, his lungs were clear and his heart had a regular rate and rhythm.During the procedure the patient developed hypotension and EKG changes.At that time, an emergent cardiac catheterization was called and the patient was moved to the cath lab.The patient then went into cardiac arrest and was unable to be resuscitated.
