Due to persistent fistula and venofibrosis, on 3/8/2000, Dr. Adrian Legaspe performed an insertion of a permanent venous port (dual lumen Groshong catheter) via the left subclavian artery. The patient became encephalopathic and on 3/23/2000, the patient expired from cardiopulmonary failure secondary to overwhelming infection and multi-system failure.
