| Patient underwent placement of permanent pacemaker without incident and post-placement interrogations times two were within normal limits. Following discharge, the pacemaker wire migrated perforating the ventricle. The patient's attorney alleged failure to recognize placement of a long right ventricular lead which may have perforated the right ventricle. Although expert review was supportive, the case was settled on behalf of this physician as a business decision without an admission of liability in order to avoid protracted litigation and risk of personal exposure to the physician. | |||||
