Final Diagnosis For Which Treatment Was Sought Including Patient's Actual Condition
On 07/13/07 a 50-year-old female visited Dr. Patel's office with complaints of dizziness and mild breathing difficulty since wakening that morning. The patient recently had bilateral hip surgery done in India and had returned home three days earlier.
Operation, Diagnostic, Or Treatment Procedure Rendered Causing The Injury
Dr. Patel assessed the patient with dizziness, shortness of breath, and muscle spasms in the lower back. Dr. Patel was suspicious of a potential blood clot or infection and advised her to go to the emergency room. She failed to follow the advice and went home. The following day, she was taken by ambulance to Largo Medical Center in full code and died of an acute MI.
