The patient complained of a flaking, hard area on his face which was identified as a erythematous keratotic papule. | |||||

A shave biopsy confirmed actinic keratosis in transition to squamous cell carcinoma in situ with adnexal extension to the peripheral and deep margins; no invasive carcinoma was identified. The patient is a licensed pharmacist and was given treatment options. He elected to use Aldara and was very familiar with its use and application. He had used it previously with success. During a follow-up visit, there were no clinical signs of reoccurrence. The patient was also seen by a MOHS surgeon and ENT with no suspicious lesions identified. | |||||
