Principal Injury Giving Rise To The Claim
Patient was involved in a clinical trial for a new topical medication for diabetic foot ulcerations and the insured was the principal investigator for the clinical trial. However there was not much interaction between the insured and the patient as most of the care was provided by the ARNP. During the clinical trial, the patient was treated for an ulcer under the left first metatarsal/hallux with the new topical medication which improved over several visits . Patient claims that insured rendered care that was inappropriate resulting in infection and a mid-foot amputation.
Severity Of Injury
Permanent: Significant - Deafness, loss of limb, loss of eye, loss of one kidney or lung.
