Patient presented to Surgical Center for carpal tunnerl surgery on her left hand.
Operation, Diagnostic, Or Treatment Procedure Rendered Causing The Injury
The insured nurse was the nurse anesthetist during the surgery, accompanied by a doctor. During the surgery the patient went into cardiac arrest; however, the pulse oxygen level was never lower than 100. The patient was intubated and returned to NSR with a normal sinus rhythm and normal heart rhythm. The patient was transported to a hospital via ambulance where an MRI was taken which indicated no brain damage. While at the hospital the patient incured MRSA and went into a coma for two months.
