Final Diagnosis For Which Treatment Was Sought Including Patient's Actual Condition
Patient was admitted to Central Florida Regional Hospital with complaints of numbness and weakness with associated slurring of speech off and on over the past few days. A CT scan without contrast was done of her brain. The final report was autorized by Dr. Siegel also interpreted the CT scan just as Dr. Simon stating "no intracranial hemorrhage.
Operation, Diagnostic, Or Treatment Procedure Rendered Causing The Injury
The diagnosis was atrophy with extensive white matter ischemic chang bilateral. The plaintiff's expert claimed that Dr. Siegel did not interpret the CT scan of the brain correctly resulting in an untimely diagnosis of an intracranial bleed and death of the patient.
