PATIENT WAS ADMITTED TO AVENTURA HOSPITAL BY HIS PRIMARY CARE PHYSICIAN WITH COMPLAINTS OF ABDOMINAL PAIN FOR SEVERAL DAYS. HIS MEDICAL HISTORY WAS SIGNIFICANT FOR CHRONIC OBSTRUCTIVE PULMONARY DISEASE.
Operation, Diagnostic, Or Treatment Procedure Rendered Causing The Injury
INSURED SAW PATIENT IN SURGICAL CONSULTATION. HE PERFORMED A CLINICAL EVALUATION AND REVIEW DIAGNOSTIC TESTING, BOTH OF WHICH SUGGESTED BOWEL OBSTRUCTION. AFTER THE PATIENT WAS CLEARED FOR SURGERY, INSURED PERFORMED EXPLORATORY SURGERY WHICH REVEALED A PERFORATED APPENDIX. AN AREA OF BOWEL OBSTRUCTION WAS ALSO NOTED.
