Insured Physician performed several procedures including multiple exploratory laparotomies, bowel inspections, resection of the jejunum and duodenum with anastomoses, and abdominal washout.

Following the CT results of pneumontosis, this Insured Physician performed several surgeries in the attempt to salvage as much bowel as possible. Despite aggressive measures most of the bowel was non-viable and resulted the removal of same. Plaintiff alleged that this Insured Physician delayed the initial surgery resulting in short-gut syndrome and liver failure.
