Incisional hernia repair.He then developed ischemia of colon 13 days after surgery and required a transverse colon resection.
Operation, Diagnostic, Or Treatment Procedure Rendered Causing The Injury
Patient needed an exploration 13 days after the incisional hernia repair. They claim the ischemia of the colon was due to a stitch, but the pathology showed ischemic changes to a lon segment of the colon. This was possible embolic-clot in one of the vessels. They still claimed it was due to a stitch from the incisional hernia. There was no evidence of this and the pathologist saw not evidence of a foreign body on the colon that resembled a stitch.
