Cholelithiasis, urinary tract infection.
Operation, Diagnostic, Or Treatment Procedure Rendered Causing The Injury
Patient underwent attempted laparoscopic cholecystectomy that required conversion to open surgery due to anomaly in anatomy. Common bile duct was underneath rather large artery & during dissection, this was cut, but later repaired. Intraoperative cholangogram performed & no leaks identified. CT scan noted small lead; however, T-tube continued to drain increased amount of bile but cause was unknown. Patient expired after discharge.
