Principal Injury Giving Rise To The Claim
Patient presented with complaints of pain, swelling and soreness on the lateral and plantar aspects of the left, 5th metatarsal.An MRI was suggestive of a neuroma/soft tissue mass, and excision surgery was performed on 04-16-08.Patient developed a painful scar at the surgery site, as well as complaints of pain consistent with metatarsalgia.Insured treated the patient¿s complaints with conservative modalities, as well as injections.On 08-06-08, insured sured surgically excised hypertrophic scar tissue, along with a suspected neuroma; however, patient¿s pain continued to persist.Patient subsequently left insured¿s care and went on to treat with other doctors.She alleges insured misdiagnosed a left, 5th bunionette deformity as a neuroma/soft tissue mass, resulting in two surgeries.
Severity Of Injury
Temporary: Minor - Infections, misset fracture, fall in hospital. Recovery delayed.
