Operation, Diagnostic, Or Treatment Procedure Rendered Causing The Injury
The patient was admitted under the care of Dr. Virpin Patel, Dr. Bhadresh Patel was covering for him during the time frame the patient was admitted.The patient's initial assessment was possible septicemia and significant drainage from the left inguinal incision and abnormal PT/INR. CT scan revealed large effusion on the left side, x-ray also shows left sided effusion which covers the whole lung. Dr. Patel's assessment was possible septicemia of significant drainage from the left inguinal incision and lower abdomen on the left side.Large pleural effusion on the left side.Abnormal PT/INR, significant peripheral vascular disease status post fem-pop bypass recently. Diabetes mellitus and hypertension. The patient was transferred to the ICU Dr. Patel ordered vitamin K to address the elevated PT/INR and an infectious disease consult was made.By the next morning the patient's condition started to deteriorate and coded.

Mr. Potter did not succumb from any action performed not performed by Dr. Patel.
