This physician interpreted a digital mammogram in August 2015 as BI-RAD 2, benign finding. In January 2017, a digital mammogram and ultrasound identified a new mass. The patient underwent a right breast mastectomy and reconstruction. She subsequently underwent radiation and chemotherapy. The patient no longer has evidence of disease. This case was settled without admission of liability as a business decision in order to avoid potential exposure to the physician and protracted litigation.
