48yo female patient was admitted to the hospital for signs of upper respiratory infection and pneumonia by other physicians.Dr. Rahim, a pulmonologist, was consulted several days after her admission to address the patient's respiratory status.
Operation, Diagnostic, Or Treatment Procedure Rendered Causing The Injury
While the patient was also being followed by several other specialists in internal medicine and infectious disease, Dr. Rahim appropriately provided respiratory supportive measures including Oxygen, IV antibiotics, and respiratory treatments.Influenza tests were ordered and performed y the other physicians which were negative until 5-7 days after admission, at which time the patient was placed on Tamiflu.
