Mr. Ciraldo was diagnosed with Clinical Stage III Colon/Rectal Cancer in October 2007, he then had a heart attack while undergoing a 6 week course of chemotherapy, requiring stents placed in his heart in December 2007.Mr. Ciraldo was scheduled to have laparoscopic ultra-low anterior resection with coloanal anastomosis and diverting ileostomy for cancer removal to take place on February 21, 2008.

The laparoscopic ultra-low anterior resection with coloanal anastomosis and diverty ileostomy on Mr. Ciraldo's cancer had no complications, and the cancerous cells were removed.
